Bespoke Caledonia Experience was founded in 2024 by Cheryl Sheil, a Scottish Historian with a big heart for all things Scotland. The idea was simple: offer entirely personalised tours, crafted with love, to anyone who asks.

We are a small family-run business, but with big passions. Depending on your interests, you will be guided by either Cheryl or Ben.
History Expert
Cheryl Sheil
Cheryl is the founder of Bespoke Caledonia. A historian by education and career, she is the expert on all things history. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys nothing more than jumping in her campervan and travelling all over Scotland to visit the most remote castles and spots of historical importance. Whether you want to explore your Clan heritage, discover mighty castles, or visit ancient battle sites - Cheryl will guide you to only the most remarkable of spots. If you are looking for a history focused trip to Scotland, Cheryl will be your primary person of contact!
Nature & Landscape Expert
Ben Sheil
Ben is our in-house naturalist. With a degree in Environmental Science and working as an adventure and wildlife guide long before the onset of Bespoke Caledonia, Ben is your expert on all things outdoors. Whether you are looking for the most awe inspiring hikes, the rarest of wildlife, or simply pleasant forest walks - Ben's your man. He also a photographer, and can teach you all about photography along the way along with running workshops! Check out his photography at:

At Bespoke Caledonia Experiences we aim to provide a 5* service at regular holiday prices. We understand that creating itineraries and booking unique adventures can be a bit daunting in a strange land and so we want to take that stress and help to give you the most amazing holiday without feeling overwhelmed with all the planning. Regardless of whether you want to book a week long personal tour, staying in the best hotels Scotland has to offer or you want to spend a month travelling to remote areas in a campervan, our attention to detail will ensure your trip is everything you envisioned and more.
We love Scotland and we want you love it as much as us. Our vision is to create truly bespoke personal tours which surpass the expectations of our clients. We will always go the extra mile to create truly magical holidays whilst ensuring that the growing tourist industry in Scotland is sustainable and that money is put back into the pockets of local communities. To this end, where possible, we will try to recommend family run businesses for you to visit and get a truly unique taste of Scotland.
Where we'll take you
Single Day Tours
On our single day tours you can either tell us where you would like to go or we will design a tour based on your likes or areas of interests. A set itinerary for the Scottish Wars of Independence will start at Stirling Castle then move on to the Wallace Monument and the Bannockburn Centre before finishing at Robert Bruce's final resting place at Dunfermline Abbey. You may prefer a nature walking tour and Ben will be happy to take you to the Trossachs to get a taste of some of the beautiful scenery Scotland has to offer. You will be collected and dropped off at your accommodation and we can recommend the best places for lunch whilst you are out. Our day trips cost £650.
We will work with you to create an itinerary for multi day tours which make all your dreams come true. Perhaps you'd like to explore some of the pristine beaches of the Outer Hebrides and visit some of the island distilleries to taste the best local gins in the country. Or maybe you'd like to go fully off the beaten path and visit some of the rugged coastlines in the far north, where you will learn all about the Highland clans, castles and forts? Maybe looking for Nessie whilst on a kayak is more your thing or mountain biking in the Scottish borders? Whatever it is that gets you excited we can make your dreams a reality on our multiday tours whilst booking accommodation to suit your budget and needs and making sure you have the best experts to guide you through each day. Prices for multiday tours are £700 per day.
Multi Day Tours
Self-Drive Itineraries
If you would rather just get in a car or campervan and explore on your own, we can help you make the most of your time in Scotland. We will work with you to get an idea of your "must sees" and plan an itinerary around that. We will help with bookings for accommodation or campsites and also make recommendations of places to see, things to do and the best restaurants, cafes and bakeries along the way. When we design your itinerary, we create a personalised Pdf e-booklet for your which will have your daily plan, maps, recommendations and interesting stories in it. This service costs £60 per day.
Bespoke Caledonia Experience specialises in private tours of Scotland and personalised self-drive itineraries, with pick-up available from Edinburgh and beyond.
